Research Abstract |
A main purpose of this study was to elucidate the establishment and the development of the teaching assistant system in the United States. The Johns Hopkins University established the first graduate school system in 1876. And a certain group in the University of Chicago discussed about the training for university teachers in the 1920s. To obtain new knowledge about an early TA system, I went these 2 universities and got several documents. However, those were not enough to sketch the establishment or the development of the TA system, so further research was needed.
