Research Abstract |
Following points are the findings of this study. (1) Play of infants includes various experiential activities needed to attain their healthy development in mind and body. It also is quite effective on the formation of their characters in every aspects. (2) Since maturity and learning bring the growth of movement functions, it is necessary to develop the spontaneity of infants and to prepare proper environment and opportunities for them. Taking account of the relation between age of infants and their emotion, intellect and socialization, it is quite important to give much thought to guiding active play. (3) Mental and physical faculties of infants have important relations to one another from a view point of social background. Those infants who have high talents both in mental and physical faculties have parents whose attitude to educate their children incline to be allocated to "properly-care type. thers or sisters. They don't have their special tastes and have a great interest in anything. On the other hand, negative-moving-children have either younger brothers or sisters. They don't eat well and their negative minds put much restrictions their movement. Their individual plays merely go forward into collective play. (4) After researching the play of infants from many aspects, it has been clear that following factors have brought much difference in the variety of play, the amount of movement and sexuality. Environment of establishments, Variety of playing materials, size of the estate, attention of caretakers, parents' attitude to educate their children, curriculum, features of care style. (5) The important thing to do for educational use of play, or educational play is firstly to realize the presence of determinative distinction between genuine play and educational play, or educational use of play.
