Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy on exercise-induced desaturation, dyspnea and recovery of activities of daily living in patients with moderate to severe interstitial lung disease. The results showed that exercise training was safe without adverse events, and exercise-induced desaturation and dyspnea could be reduced. Furthermore, this intervention allowed for early recovery and maintenance of activities of daily living. These results suggest that exercise training using high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy is feasible, safe and effective for severe interstitial lung disease.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
